Psychological Assessment
Psychological Assessments (evaluations) can help health care providers and their patients diagnose in a variety of ways. Psychological evaluation determines a patient’s emotional state in relation to chronic or acute problems. To mention a few categories, this can evaluate a patient’s level of copying, stress, interpersonal interactions, reality testing, sadness, and anxiety.
Furthermore, when a future assessment or progress is expected as a result of therapy, a psychological assessment can serve as a baseline of functioning.
Finally, the evaluation has the ability to help frame following individual psychotherapy so that the therapist has a better understanding of the patient and his or her concerns before or during treatment. Differential diagnosis is beneficial to people who work with the patient (and their families) to better understand the diagnostic dilemma, with better understanding as to the appropriate medications for the diagnosis, treatment interventions, and effective forms of assistance.
